Smoky Mountain Vacation Rental Photography Portfolio

Cabins, vacation rentals, and the details that make guests want to stay

A great vacation rental isn’t just a collection of rooms.

It’s the view from the deck in the morning. The game room where everyone ends up after dinner. The hot tub at dusk. The fireplace, the pool, the theater, the little reading nook—and sometimes the ridiculously cool bunk room the kids are going to claim before the car is unloaded.

My job is to photograph the whole experience.

I’ve photographed thousands of vacation rental properties throughout the Smoky Mountains, from traditional one- and two-bedroom cabins to large luxury lodges packed with amenities.

My approach is simple: show the property at its best while keeping it believable. Clean color, natural light, thoughtful composition, accurate views, and enough coverage to tell the complete story.

Below is a selection of recent work.

Interiors

Clean, natural spaces that still feel like the real property

Wide photographs should help a guest understand a room—not make it look twice as large as it really is.

I use controlled lighting and ambient light together to maintain natural color, preserve exterior views when appropriate, and give interiors a polished look without losing the atmosphere that made the property appealing in the first place.

Bedrooms & Baths

The spaces guests actually live in

Bedrooms and bathrooms can easily become repetitive in a vacation rental listing, but they’re an important part of the decision to book.

I look for the features that distinguish each space—views, fireplaces, soaking tubs, balconies, textures, lighting, and the relationship between bedrooms and adjoining baths.

Amenities

Often the reason one cabin gets booked instead of another

Pools. Game rooms. Theaters. Arcades. Bunk rooms. Putting greens.

In the Smoky Mountain rental market, amenities can be every bit as important as the living room or mountain view.

I photograph them as features worth experiencing rather than simply documenting that they’re there.

Outdoor Living & Views

Show guests why they’re coming to the mountains

Decks, hot tubs, fire pits, outdoor dining spaces, wooded settings and mountain views are a huge part of the Smoky Mountain vacation rental experience.

Good photography should show both the feature and its relationship to the property and surroundings.

Twilight

When the cabin changes character

Some properties really come alive as the daylight fades.

Exterior lighting, fire pits, hot tubs, pools, string lights and illuminated interiors can transform an ordinary exterior view into one of the most atmospheric images in the listing.

Twilight photography is especially useful when the outdoor experience is one of the property’s strongest selling points.

Drone

Sometimes the story makes more sense from above

Aerial photography can show things that are difficult—or impossible—to communicate from ground level: mountain views, acreage, terrain, privacy, resort placement and the relationship between the cabin and its surroundings.

I am an FAA Part 107 certified drone pilot and offer aerial photography throughout the Smoky Mountains.

Details & Styling

Sometimes the small photograph tells the bigger story

Not every image needs to show an entire room.

A cup of coffee beside a window, a game waiting to be played, a drink on the deck, the texture of a fireplace or a carefully styled corner can give a listing rhythm and personality between the wide architectural photographs.

These images are particularly useful for websites, social media and marketing beyond the booking-platform gallery.
